Writer's picture: The Knitting ConnectionThe Knitting Connection

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Sue A. Manning: mother, grandmother, sister, and a friend to many. Sue passed away on January 29, 2025, at the age of 83.

She was the founder of The Knitting Connection, an organization she devoted herself to selflessly for many years. Through her efforts, Sue and her dedicated team brought warmth and comfort to countless individuals in need by creating and distributing handknit items to those less fortunate. Her compassion and tireless efforts were a beacon of hope in the community, and she will be remembered for the profound impact she had on so many lives.

Sue is survived by her daughter, Darlene Magee and her husband Dave, grandchildren and great grandchild, her siblings: Margaret Schneider, Robert Kendrigan and his wife Marie, Kathy Kendrigan, and Patty Hook and her husband Robbie, as well as many nieces and nephews. Her legacy of kindness, generosity, and love for others will live on in the hearts of all who knew her.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to visit with Sue’s family in the Dello Russo Funeral Home, 306 Main St., Medford on Saturday, February 22nd from 10 AM through 1 PM, with a memorial service at 1 PM. A private family cemetery service will be held at a later date. Sue’s love for animals, especially dogs, was also a defining aspect of her life, and in her memory, the family asks that in lieu of flowers, donations be made in Sue’s name to the Medford Animal Control, Medford, MA or any animal shelter or humane society of your choosing.

Sue will be deeply missed, but her legacy of service, kindness, and love will never be forgotten.
